Blogging for Cash – Affiliate Programs and Blog Ad Networks
- By: Jason DeVelvis

If you have a blog, and you want to start blogging for cash – affiliate programs and blog ad networks is the first step. However, today you may not have to look far to find affiliate programs for your blog. There are a couple of very effective blog advertising networks that will allow you to make money on your blog – along with any other affiliate programs that you want to promote.

Blog advertising networks work much like any other advertising network, such as Shareasale or Click Bank. Some even work like Google AdSense, generating ads based on the content of a webpage. Some networks pay for clicks, others pay for sales only. Getting set up with a blog advertising network is quite simple.

Two such blog advertising networks are Blogads at http://www.blogads.com/ and Crisp Ads at http://www.crispads.com/ . These are the two most popular blog ad networks today. Unfortunately, Blogads is by invitation only at this time, and you must be invited by a blogger who is already in the network to start earning revenue through this blog ad network.

However, if you are lucky enough to get an invitation, you will be able to earn anywhere from $50 to $5000 per month, depending on how popular your blog is. You also have the opportunity to network with other successful bloggers, which will dramatically increase your own readership. You have the ability to set your own prices, customize the design, and even write your own sales copy for the ads. You have total control over what appears on your blog site. Again, membership in the Blogads program is by invitation only, so in the meantime, you might want to consider using Crisp Ads. You may even find so much success with Crisp Ads that you don’t worry about membership in the Blogads program!

Crisp Ads is less exclusive, but equally effective. You can choose keyword based text ads or graphical ads. Keyword based ads earn a flat twenty cents per click, and Crisp Ads pays out on balances of at least $5 through Paypal. For graphical ads, you can literally name your price for the month, and Crisp ads will find the advertisers for you. Crisp Ads will list your blog in their blog catalog, which is what advertisers use to determine where they want their ads placed.

Because Crisp Ads is open to everyone, it is the most popular choice for blog ad networks. You are able to earn money in two different ways, and with the payouts so small and easy to collect, you can’t go wrong. According to Crisp Ads, even the smallest of blogs can earn revenue using their system. Joining is of course free. When you don’t have an advertiser through Crisp Ads, you can use the pay-per-click feature instead, so you are continually earning revenue no matter what. You will also have the ability to track your clicks and earnings through the reporting feature for your account.

The important thing is that no matter which option you choose, you still have the freedom of promoting other affiliate products and services on your blog. However, if you hope to run Google AdSense along side the keyword ads through Crisp Ads, treat carefully– this practice may be against the Google AdSense policy – even though Crisp Ads claims it is not against the Google AdSense policy. Use caution!

If you have a blog, and you want to start blogging for cash – affiliate programs and blog ad networks is the first step.

Blogging - Developing A Readership

- By: Rose DesRochers

You've finally created a blog and you've made your first post. Now how do you get people to actually read what you're blogging about?

Here are some tips on promoting your blog.

1) Quality Content - Interesting content will keep your readership returning. Update your blog regularly.

Googlebot, which is Google's web-crawling robot loves content. The more you update your blog, the more frequent the search engine spiders will return to it.

2) Take part in forums that are related to blogging. Ask other bloggers for their opinion on your blog and take their suggestions to heart.

Ask other bloggers for their opinion on your blog and take their suggestions to heart.

3) Publish an RSS/Atom/XML feed. If you're using Blogger, you can turn on RSS feed by clicking on settings in your dashboard and then clicking on site feed and make sure that your settings are set to yes.

4) Carefully choose your subject titles, taking into consideration what other internet users may be searching for.

Use keywords in your title. I suggest subscribing to Word Tracker. Their report of the most popular searches is published each Tuesday and distributed to over 30,000 subscribers.

Technorati.com , is a blog search engine that also lists the top search words. The more targeted your keywords are, the greater your return in search engines will be.

5) Involve yourself in commenting on other blogs. You can gain a loyal readership just by offering feedback to your fellow bloggers. The comment feature allows you to add a link back to your blog as well.

6) Be sure to include your blog address in forum signatures and in your email signature.

7) Submit your blog to directories.

Submit your blog's url to Technorati, Daypop, Blogdex and Popdex.

8) Write articles. Include a resource box in your article and submit it to article directories such as http://iSnare.com

9) If you're using blogging software such as Blogger, there is an option to notify the central blog update services (such as http://weblogs.com) whenever you've made a new entry to your blog. Make sure that this option is turned on! In blogger, click on publish in your dashboard and make sure that your settings are set to yes under notify weblogs. Alternatively, you can go to http://ping-o-matic.com and send out a ping each time you update your blog. This lets everyone know that you've just updated your blog.

10) Link to other blogs. Use services like blogrolling, which is similar to linking. Blogrolling allows you to maintain an updated list of your favorite blogs. But, don't build a long blog roll of sites that you have no intention of returning to. There is nothing more annoying then visiting a blog that has a humongous blogroll.

Be patient, traffic doesn't happen overnight. The best way that I've found to increase traffic is by getting to know people. Spend what free time that you have, reading blogs, leaving feedback and building friendships. Try to leave comments on the blogs that you visit as often as you can. While you are waiting for the traffic to come, just enjoy blogging. You'll be improving your writing in the process.

Eventually you'll build a network of not just readers, but friends and loyal supporters. Blogging is not just about marketing; it's about creating lasting relationships.

Blogging for Internet Marketers – How to Create a Successful Blog
- By: Paul Duxbury

In today’s Internet Marketing environment having a Blog is not just a nice to have it’s becoming essential. More and more people are reading Blogs and they offer great opportunities to promote your products or services. In addition if your Blog becomes popular you can create a good passive income through the adverts that you carry.

As an Internet Marketer if you want to create a really successful blog, there are three main things that you need to concentrate on to get started. Many Internet Marketers make the mistake of thinking that building a successful blog is one of the easiest tasks out there and they couldn’t be more wrong! A successful Internet Marketer needs to do more than just set up a blog page to chat about their products. You need to focus on three essential building blocks in order to have a successful Internet Marketing blog. These three building blocks are not enough of themselves to make your Internet Marketing blog successful however they will give you a great start.

Look

The first building block for a successful Internet Marketing blog is The Look. What this means is that your blog should start with an appropriate style. A style which reflects the rest of your online business or at the very least conveys your professionalism. You can begin when you first start your blog. Many blogging software programmes will help you out with the style of your blog. If you are using a blogging programme that is aimed mainly at beginners, you will find that it will offer different templates for you to choose. There will be something for everyone. You can go through the templates to choose which colours you like best for the layout. Experiment with the layouts to see which templates look best on the computer screen and which most readily match the rest of your Internet Marketing sites. You have the option to go back and change the template later if you want to change the look of your Internet Marketing blog. Make sure that if you are creating your own Internet Marketing blog, without using a pre-created template that you make it look as professional as possible. You can even hire a professional to do the job for you if you wish. The more professional your blog looks, the more seriously your readers and potential customers will take your posts.

Content

The content of your Internet Marketing blog is the second key building block you will need for a successful blog. While you can choose to create posts that have no direction or purpose, you will find that when you post interesting commentary or short information filled articles that your traffic will increase. Although you may think it is interesting, most readers will not enjoy reading about your day to day Internet Marketing activities, unless you make them into humorous stories.

It should also be noted that the more content you have on your site, the more successful your site will be. It is basically a numbers game at this point. The more you post, the more chances you will have that one of your posts will attract the eye of someone searching for a related topic.

Advertisements

The third building block is advertising. Internet Marketing Bloggers can make a steady passive income using advertising on their blogs. The trick is to have a good mixture of ads and content however. If you fill your blog with ads and have no content for readers, they will be distracted and not visit your site again. A good rule to remember is that you should never have more than two or three ads per blog page. This is an important rule to remember. You should not overwhelm you readers with ads. You should only present them so that the readers can further explore them if they wish. Don’t use flashing ads or other bold ads that will annoy your readers. Choosing the right type of advertising program is part of it as well. In fact I would go as far as to say that the best way to advertise is by using Google’s Adsense Programme which will place ads relevant to your Internet Marketing activities – as long as you talk about them in your content! You have the option with Google Adsense to filter out your direct competitors which is an added bonus.

Dedication

The most important building block of a great Internet Marketing blog is dedication. You must be willing to be dedicated to your blog. You have to put in the time and energy to get positive results. Even with the other components in place, unless you take the time to update your posts on a regular basis, you will not be getting optimum results. Dedication can help a lot. It can mask the fact that you are a beginner and allow you to create a profit producing and functional Internet Marketing blog. No matter how little experience you have simple dedication can take you a long way and you are learning all the time whilst building up your Internet Marketing activity. You can have a great blog as long as you take the time to commit to your latest Internet Marketing project.

In today’s Internet Marketing environment having a Blog is not just a nice to have it’s becoming essential. More and more people are reading Blogs and they offer great opportunities to promote your products or services.
